Appraisers

James E. Willard is a California Certified General Real Estate Appraiser and founder of James E. Willard & Associates in Newport Beach. With appraisal experience spanning more than five decades, he has worked across a wide range of residential, commercial, and investment property assignments throughout California. Since establishing his firm in 1968, he has provided professional valuation services for private clients, financial institutions, and government-related acquisitions.

Prior to founding his appraisal practice, Mr. Willard served as Senior Appraiser and Assistant Vice President at Belmont Savings and Loan Association in Long Beach, where he was designated a Class IV Appraiser by the Savings and Loan Commissioner. Earlier in his career, he worked in commercial and investment real estate sales and served as an appraiser under the supervision of Howard S. Martin, SRA, where he contributed to numerous appraisal assignments, many involving government acquisitions.

Mr. Willard completed advanced real estate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles and earned a Certificate in Real Estate through the University of California Extension program. He has completed extensive professional coursework through the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, and the Appraisal Institute, while maintaining continuing education requirements through the State of California.

Throughout his career, Mr. Willard has received numerous professional distinctions, including the SRA designation from the Society of Real Estate Appraisers. He has served as a director of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers, a state director for the California Real Estate Association, and chairman of the Education Committee for the Pasadena Board of Realtors. He has also contributed to professional education as a guest speaker for the UCLA Real Estate Certificate Program.
